Review: Cheap Monday fine gauge seamed knit

I usually put off reviewing basics because there’s not that much to say about them. (So, yeah. This jumper. I like it. Seems good)… But since I’m now on my second Cheap Monday fine gauge seamed knit (available in black and mink) I guess it’s worth a mention!

I’ve had the black version for months and it makes a really nice jumper for layering; because it’s not too chunky it tucks well into skirts and shorts without looking puffy. I LOVE it firstly because it seems to get compliments every time I wear it (weird, for such a simple jumper… I think the seam detail is deceptively flattering) and secondly because it is a dream to wash- doesn’t get out of shape, dries easily, still looks like new. In terms of warmth factor, it’s good for people like me who are constantly taking their jumpers on and off- the knit is loose, so there are plenty of little holes for air to get through. Just right for indoors during cool weather, although about zero percent effective outdoors in the wind, I’d say. To be worn with a jacket on cold days!

Anyway, although they’re not on sale I bit the bullet with the recent 25% off promo code and got the mink version too! Not a colour I usually wear, but I think I’ll keep it. The black version is more versatile, but because of the high neckline it can look a little goth if not worn with colourful accessories. The mink is a perfect neutral alternative.
